The New Chapter of Hublot and Ferrari, Classic Fusion Ferrari GT
Share

A new member of Hublot’s Ferrari watch line, the Hublot Classic Fusion Ferrari GT was introduced at Baselworld 2019. While the most watch-car brands collaboration products are designed by the watch brand, this watch designed directly by the Ferrari design department.

This is the second watch designed by Ferrari design team, the first one was Hublot Techframe Ferrari back in 2017. This is the perfect movement from Hublot and Ferrari because everybody is boring with the kind of collaboration that only having the prancing horse logo on it.

Designed by the “Centro Stile Ferrari”, the new Classic Fusion Ferrari GT draws inspiration from the GT designed and crafted in the Maranello workshops. Coming with 45mm-wide and 13.5mm thick, this watch is really well composed with bold Ferrari sense of design and the sporty yet elegant spirit of Hublot. Well, this watch looks dressier than any other Hublot Ferrari products, so the Classic Fusion name was added to this new family line.

Actually, the classic Fusion Ferrari GT case is available in three materials, but we are so in love with this carbon one. The larger monolithic case structure blends with a screw-secured bezel, produce rough and industrial looks on this watch. Arabic numerals topped skeletonized dial that also features a 30-minute chronograph, time and date indicator, as well as Ferrari logo on 12 o’clock position. The face of this watch comes with some visual depth but still easy to read in terms of the time.

If you see the case material details, you can see a few differences from any other carbon material. May it looks a lot like carbon fibre, but it was composed with a different carbon formulation by Ferrari. A Schedoni leather strap with a comfortable lining was attached to this watch, the best compliment for the good looking case.

Powered by Hublot’s popular and well-performing in-house automatic chronograph movements, the UNICO calibre HUB 1280, composed of 354 parts and operates at 4Hz. The movement also provides 72 hours of power reserve and water resistant up to 100 meters. The column wheel can be seen via the display case back and from the dial side.

This collaboration watch is very contemporary, while Hublot worked on the amazing movement, Ferrari worked on the body design and material. The main highlight of this watch is the case, conceived as a true concentrical suspended element that enhances the dial presence and the sophisticated manufacturing making process. The Centro Stile Ferrari designer really does their best for Hublot Classic Fusion Ferrari GT, building bridges between automotive design and watchmaking motorisation.
