Piaget Altiplano with Meteorite Dial Touch
Share

Piaget is well known for their unbelievably thin watches that have been working since its inception in 1874. It's not just about their capability as a watchmaker but also a style in its own right. Precious stones, splashes of gold, and colours are hallmarks of Piaget on their dress watches.

In 2017, Piaget unveiled several new models of the ultra-thin concept which is the best-selling icon, the Altiplano 60th anniversary editions as well as  a series of variations with colorful dials. As part of the pre-SIHH 2019, Piaget present a new version of the Altiplano Automatic 40mm that is based on the same concept of an ultra-thin piece with great attention to the dial, this time with a meteorite dial.

This watch shares the same base case and movement as the colorful 40mm Altiplano Automatic back in 2017, but coming with a new creative approach on the dial. This new meteorite edition is pleasant.

The case of the new Piaget Altiplano with meteorite dial is made of 18k pink gold, this is a really good match for anthracite dials. The 40mm diameter case coming with Piaget’s tradition for sure, thin and measures only 6.6mm in height. The pink gold case entirely polished for a formal look with caseback doubling up as the mainplate and peripheral rotor.

Flat polished bezel, flast casebands, thin straight lugs, that features in the new Piaget Altiplano Automatic 40mm Meteorite dial showing all of the classics attributes of the model. An elegant and well proportioned dress watch, with automatic movement, minimalist crown, grey alligator strap with an 18k pink gold pin buckle that complementing the meteorite dial.

The main feature of this new Piaget Altiplano lies in its dial that is made of thin slices of meteorite. Adorned with pink gold applied indexes and hands, the metallic grey colour meteorite dial looks so classy. No two watches will have a similar dial, because the pattern of the meteorite is the result of the crystallization of the stone.

The watch is powered by calibre 1203P, the faithful heir of their legendary automatic calibre 12P. This movement coming with 44h power reserve and wound by a thin rotor measures just 3mm in height. You can see this beautiful movement that features bevelled bridges with circular cotes de Geneve, a circular grained plate, sunburst brushed wheels, and blue screws through the sapphire caseback.

Overall, this watch comes with a really amazing dial with a pattern that gives a more lively look. The combination of the dial and the case colour makes it warm and elegant. This watch will be a limited edition of 300 pieces.
