Breguet has unveiled a new iteration of the Classique Calendrier 7337, one of its most traditional and distinctive dress watches. The new model, which is available in 18k white or rose gold, has minor aesthetic updates that were inspired by the most recent overhaul in 2020 and maintains the long-standing tradition of the design in terms of both overall appearance and technical details.

The two new 7337 models don’t make any special efforts to shift the course of history, but they do have a number of little design changes that give them a sharper and more modern look. The date and day apertures have been given a stronger rectilinear cut-out that is bolder for better readability.

Breguet’s wordmark and number now appear in new locations on the off-centre time display, which shows the hours, minutes, and minuscule seconds. The little seconds display has also been significantly simplified. It is now placed firmly on the surface of the centre dial, which is adorned with clous de Paris hobnail guilloché. The subdial is nothing more than a simple 60-second track with Arabic numerals every 15 seconds.

The only significant difference between the new Classique 7337 and its most recent model is a little adjustment to the dial layout. The moonphase display still appears at 12 o’clock on the dial, but the outer dial area is decorated with barleycorn guilloché.

The clouds are sandblasted for a different texture, the moon is made of hand-hammered gold, and the surrounding blue sky is covered with lacquer that glitters like stars.

This watch is powered by a self-winding calibre 502.QSE1, a tiny movement with just 2.4mm in height. The technical features on this watch are an off-centre oscillating weight made of solid white gold, a silicon balance spring, and an unusual escapement that uses an inverted straight-line pallet lever with silicon horns.

The beautiful movement is visible through a sapphire crystal exhibition caseback, which also reveals the Geneva stripes, exquisite chamfers, and rhodium-plated bridges.
