Meet Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet, a collection blending ancestral savoir-faire and contemporary design launched in 2019. Upon release, the collection presented 6 original models, including 4 complications and 3 new calibers. A year later, the Manufacture evolved the collection with new colors and material combinations attuned to its DNA.

The collection carries its genetic code in the name itself:
11:59 is an acronym that stands for “Challenge, Own, Dare, Evolve,” while the “11.:59” timestamp represents the final moment before a brand new day. Although always looking at tomorrow, the collection continues to move forward, building on the past.
Designed for both men and women, the collection’s 41 mm case is endowed with an ergonomic curvature suiting all types of wrists despite its large size, as the collection has been designed for both men and women.
The case also boldly embeds an octagonal middle case within a round extra-thin bezel and case back. Meanwhile, the upper part of the open-worked lugs is welded to the extra-thin bezel, while the lower part leans delicately against the case back in perfect alignment. This case’s complex architecture cuts through the timeline of Audemars Piguet’s long history of design experimentation.
The collection’s Selfwinding and Selfwinding Chronograph models feature a contemporary lacquered dial that offers an interesting play of light. Audemars Piguet has made a contemporary double curved sapphire crystal whose tense, arched profile plays with depth, perspective, and light to protect the dial. This sapphire crystal is vertically curved from 6 to 12 o’clock, while its internal surface is shaped like a dome for a unique optic experience.
The Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Selfwinding Chronograph (Reference 26393OR.OO.A321CR.01)
The collection’s Selfwinding Chronograph is powered by a new movement known as Calibre 4401. This movement replaces the current in-house movement that it recently used in various Royal Oak and Royal Oak Offshore models.
The Calibre is endowed with an integrated chronograph with a vertical column wheel and flyback function that enables to restart of the chronograph without stopping or resting it first and an instant-jump date indication. The new movement operates at 4Hz and comes with 70 hours of power reserve.
The updates happen not only on the technical aspect but also the aesthetic of the movement. It has beautiful architecture and decorations and a dedicated 22-carat pink gold open-worked oscillating weight visible through the case back.
The smoked lacquered blue dial features an 18-carat pink gold applied hour-markers and hands and a 24-carat pink gold applied logo in galvanic growth. Lastly, there’s a hand-stitched “large square scale” blue alligator strap with 18-carat pink gold pin buckle to complete the watch.
The Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Selfwinding (Reference 15210CR.OO.A009CR.01)
For the first time, the Manufacture evolves the collection with a two-tone gold design, which furthers the geometric complexity of the case. The 18-carat pink gold middle case is embedded in white gold for a powerful contrast.
The watch’s two-tone design is enhanced by a light grey lacquered dial adorned with a contemporary sunburst motif. The dial’s grey hues are illuminated by 18-carat pink gold hour-markers and hands, as well as a 24-carat gold logo made in galvanic growth.
This watch is powered by Calibre 4302, a self-winding movement with hours, minutes, seconds, and date indication. With a large diameter of 32 mm, this caliber improves reliability and accuracy. Consisting of 257 parts, this automatic movement has a frequency of 4 Hz and 70 hours of power reserve. Also, the collection’s dedicated oscillating weight in 22-carat pink gold is visible through the sapphire case back.
Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet is explicitly modern while nodding to the Manufacture’s time-honored traditions. Hand-finished to the slightest detail, the technical and aesthetic complexity of Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet will certainly appeal to the people who choose it all and look beyond the obvious.
