Jaeger-LeCoultre is known for its watchmaking prowess and dubbed as “Grande Maison of the Vallée de Joux” and the “watchmaker’s watchmaker.” They are also known as an industry leader because they innovated every product they made. Of the current watches that the brand offers, the Duomètre is one of the brand’s savviest offerings.
The legacy of traditional watchmaking expertise at the core of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Duometrè Quantième Lunaire white gold watch is apparent from the very first glance. Refined and surprising, the timepiece reveals part of its fine watchmaking movement to delight lovers of magnificent watches.
This watch comes with a 40,5 mm white gold case, silvered grey opaline dial, and baton hour-markers. The case design is fairly simple, with everything polished except for the case flanks, which are satin finished. The main dial is silver-grey, and opaline comes with two cut-outs on the bottom left and right quadrants. These cut-outs reveal the movement, including two power reserve indicators.
In its case are housed two independent mechanisms, one dedicated to the functions and the other to the operating of the watch’s regulating organ. They each have their own source of energy, which guarantees maximum timekeeping accuracy.
On the left side of the silvered, opaline dial, the lunar calendar function is displayed under the domed sapphire crystal. The hand-hammered moon phase indicator gracefully evolves in a sky delicately sprinkled with stars. To the right of this scene, the hours counter blends seamlessly with the extreme elegance of the traditional hour-markers.
At 6 o’clock, the ‘jumping seconds’ counter is surrounded on either side by the decorated movement, which can admire through two apertures that are both simple and discreet. On either side of the bright red rubies, the gear trains, bridges, and bottom plate focus as onlookers further discover the watch.
