IWC’s Portofino timepieces have represented seamless elegance for almost 40 years. Celebrities like Joel Edgerton and Cate Blanchett have been spotted flashing these round-faced watches to the paparazzi over the past ten years. And we are glad to hear that IWC Schaffhausen is updating the collection with a number of contemporary features and nuances.

    Portofino Automatic 34 Ladies’ Collection

The fact that this dress watch is both practical and sumptuous at the same time makes it a star, not just a starlet. Its capacity to adjust to changing demand is what defines it as an icon rather than merely a star.

To say that the world has changed significantly since the invention of this timepiece would be an understatement. With fresh hues, calfskin straps, and a new five-link metal bracelet, IWC is more than prepared to meet the demands of the contemporary watch enthusiast.

The new models have the option of a polished, diamond-free bezel with a green or blue dial. Alternatively, you can choose the more fancy design that has 66 diamonds totaling over 1 carat. These rocks enhanced light reflection very well, thanks to updated stone-setting methods, creating a super-sparkly look. The dials’ sunray-finished surfaces continue to be illuminated by this light show.

Either a calfskin strap or a high-grade 5-link stainless steel bracelet is included within the collection. A gentle and warm contrast to the brightness of the diamonds is created by the bracelet’s flexible leather that contrasts satin and polished surfaces.

The Portofino Automatic Day & Night 34

The quick-change strap system is a feature on all models in the new Portofino 34 series, making it simple to switch out the strap or bracelet to modify your appearance from workplace elegance to midnight gala glamour.

It’s great that IWC is also releasing the first 34mm Portofino with a poetic day and night complication since we are talking about a watch that switches between day and night activities with ease. A disc at six o’clock that rotates once every 24 hours to denote AM and PM serves as an example of this cosmic dance. The sun or moon appears in the upper portion of the display at noon or midnight.

There are two references available for the Portofino Automatic Day & Night 34. One has a lavish 18-carat 5N gold case with 54 diamonds, a blue dial with 12 diamonds, gold-plated hands and appliques, and a taupe calfskin strap with a quick-change mechanism.

The watch is mounted on a buttery soft blue calfskin strap with a quick-change mechanism and has a face adorned with 12 diamonds and a silver-plated dial with gold-plated hands and accents. Both of these watches are powered by the IWC calibre 35180 automated mechanical movement with central hacking seconds.

The IWC Portofino Automatic 37 and the Moon Phase 37

As a first in the luxury watch sector, IWC is now selling straps made of entirely traceable Swiss calf leather. The new Portofinos, including the new 37mm models, represent this progression in design. Each strap has a unique identifier that may be used to identify the source of the fabric.

A new calibre for the Automatic 37 may be the most delightful addition to the IWC Portofino family. The Portofino Automatic 37 and the Portofino Automatic Moon Phase 37 are two new references that have both undergone a technological improvement using movements from IWC’s proprietary 32000 calibre family.

While the iconic Portofino Automatic 37 is offered in six new varieties, the Automatic Moon Phase 37 is only available in three iterations. Good features like gold-plated rotors and blued screws are included in these exquisitely polished mechanisms, which are all displayed via sapphire glass case backs.
