Rooted in ancient gold hammering, Carolina Bucci’s Florentine technique consists of Beating the gold with a diamond-tipped tool to creates tiny indentations on the surface, giving a sparkle effect similar to that of precious stones, like diamond dust. The challenge for Audemars Piguet’s experts was to apply this surface treatment across the case and bracelet of the watch without altering the Royal Oak’s clean lines while making them sparkle when catching the light.
